Opening I'm going to.

Former guest and friend of the podcast Olivia Arthur has an exhibition opening and book launch this Thursday evening (19th June) at Hangar Space down the road from me in my old stomping ground, Dalston, London E8. The book is entitled A Pocket Of Their Own Shape and is published by Olivia and her husband Philip's own imprint, Fishbar.

The book and show came out of Olivia's artist residency at 7L, the Library and former studio of Karl Largerfeld in Paris and the show is a new version of the installation that was originally done there. There will be ghost-like flags alongside the original hand coloured prints.

The exhibition continues to 28th June Thurs-Sun 12-6pm.

From There is an interesting discussion over on the Aperture Foundation's YouTube channel between Diana Markosian and previous podcast guest Abdulhamid Kircher, entitled Finding a Father Figure: Exploring Estrangement Across Borders.

The duo are linked by their recent books centred around complex relationships with their respective fathers: Diana’s Father (Aperture, 2024) and Abdulhamid's Rotting from Within (Loose Joints, 2024).

In this 'Aperture Conversation', moderated by writer and editor Dalia Al-Dujaili and hosted in partnership with the British Journal of Photography, the two artists discuss their unique experiences photographing their fathers in particular.
